Kaboul ponders Sunderland switch

Spurs defender Younes Kaboul is considering making the move to Sunderland.

This comes after the Frenchman’s agent, Rudy Raba, recently said: “Younes wouldn’t join Sunderland even if there was an earthquake.”

However, Raba said today: “Younes was very impressed with [Sunderland manager] Roy Keane when he met him, especially with his vision for Sunderland.

“He was also very impressed with the city, stadium and facilities which, to be fair, are second to none.

“Younes also appreciated the fact that Roy and Sunderland have given him a couple of days to make a decision. I now expect him to make up his mind in the next 24 hours.”

Blackburn: No set price for Bentley

Posted by Stevio in Tottenham Hotspur, Videos on July 21st, 2008

Blackburn Rovers have denied putting a £17m price tag on reported Spurs target David Bentley.

Blackburn chairman John Williams said: “Contrary to speculation in the media, we have not put a price on David’s head because we don’t work like that.

“The situation is we have had two bids for David, both of which have been rejected.

“However, if we got a bid that was in line with current market values, then we will refer it to our manager Paul Ince. It becomes a football decision after that.

“As I’ve said all along, we are under no financial pressure to sell because David is only one year into a four-year contract.”

Sevilla deny agreeing Capel fee, Dunne on way?

Posted by Stevio in Rumours, Videos on May 29th, 2008

The Daily Mail report that we’ve agreed to pay the £11.5m get-out clause of Sevilla winger Diego Capel, however this looks inaccurate as Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido denies that this is the case.

He told ABC Sevilla: “After talks with his representatives, I do not have any information about Tottenham being prepared to pay his clause, which is 15.6million euros [£12.36m].

“What I would ask is whether a foreign club could exercise the buy-out clause in Spain?”

The same paper are again reporting that we’ve won the race to sign Manchester City defender Richard Dunne.

Robbie Keane’s international team-mate has one-year remaining on his deal at City, and would cost just £5m.

At 28, he’s entering his prime, and would definitely be a bargain buy.
