“The more things change,the more they stay the same”. I never really understood what that meant or how it could apply to anything. It became all too clear this weekend just gone. A new look Tottenham, coaching staff included, but more of the same old – same old. A new forward partnership combining strength, agility and intelligence – no goals. A new potent midfield of experience, creativity and speed – can’t send a ball into the box if they actually picked the ball up, took it to FedEX and paid premium for same day delivery into the penalty box. New look defence? defensive midfielder playing out of position? and as for numb skull shenanagans of Esso-Shell-Mobil-Ekotto, no comment. The same defeat on the road versus a team that could be best described as awful. If we have any aspirations of making the top 4, hold on, what have I been smoking? Top 6, it’s the Boro’s of the league that we should be beating, home, away and on the moon, it shouldn’t matter where we play them, it should be an easy 3 pointer even under the sea. Now I know why WHL has the plushest, greenest, most beautiful lawn in the premier league, it’s because every 2 weeks or so, $100M of manure is spread all over it! I am fuming at yet another poor start to the season. “It’s only one game” I hear you say,”no need to get so riled up”, but when you see the scum eking 3 points, Chelski trouncing Pompey, Liverpool beating the team that beat us in last season’s opener (I am still upset at that), Villa making easy work of this year’s relegation contender Man they’re so $hitty; my prediction for this season’s final spot is 11th. If we qualify for Europe through Inter-Toto, it would be a miracle. Here we go again, Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspurs, as the Spurs Go Marching ON ON Onto another season of mid table mediocrity. I am so despondent.
