Spurs finally sack Ramos

A few weeks too late perhaps, but finally, Spurs have sacked Juande Ramos. I think performances had been improving, but the team just lacked good fortune.

Joining the Spaniard through the exit door are his assistants Gus Poyet and Marcos Alvarez. Also out is sporting director Damien Comolli, who let’s face it, hasn’t really done too well with his signings.

Research coach Clive Allen and youth coach Alex Inglethorpe will take charge of the team this afternoon for the match against Bolton Wanderers.

Spurs manager happy for Berbatov to stay

Posted by Stevio in Transfers on August 11th, 2008

Tottenham Hotspur manager Juande Ramos says he’d be happy for striker Dimitar Berbatov to stay at White Hart Lane.

The Bulgarian international has recently been repeatedly linked with moves to Manchester United.

The Spaniard said: “I can’t say whether Dimitar is happy or not – I just know that I would be very happy to keep him here.

“I would be absolutely delighted if Berbatov was still at the club after the end of the transfer window and I really hope that is the case.

“He is a magnificent player and we want to enjoy another season of him at this club.”

On possible new signings, he added: “The window closes on August 31 so anything can happen before then.

“Players might come in and players might leave, it is all possible.”
